In this tour you will explore the long and fascinating coastline of Apulia. Starting from Bari, with the longest seafront of Italy, a city that combines its commercial and urban part represented by the university, buildings and theatres with the history and culture of the old town marked by churches and fortifications. Continuing on the south you will find first the town of Polignano a Mare, a pretty little town built on the rocks overlooking the sea and then Monopoli, interesting both for its historical centre with the castle of Charles V and for the sandy beaches and fashionable beach bars. Near the coast you will visit Ostuni, called the White City because of its white-washed terraced houses and then Alberobello, the city of "trulli", typical houses built with dry stones, Unesco site since 1996. At 15 km far from Apulian border you will visit Matera, in Basilicata, awarded European Capital of Culture 2019 thanks to the famous “Sassi”, UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back over 7000 years, with narrow streets, cave churches and a suggestive landscape.
